This Cimpe is already very popular among the people of Central/Southeast Aceh, Tanah Karo, and is even known in South Tapanuli (Mandailing).

The Alas Alas (Alas People) usually call this food Cimpe, and Urang Gayo know this food as Gutel, while in Karo it is called Cimpa.

The way of making and serving is slightly different between Gayo, Alas and Karo. The ingredients are easy to obtain and the method of making it is simple, anyone can make it.
Making and serving it is a bit different, both Cimpe, Cimpa Unung, and Gutel. But the ingredients are the same, for example the difference is that before steaming Cimpe or Gutel will be wrapped in pandan leaves while in Cimpa Unung it is wrapped in banana leaves or Palma leaves before steaming.

The ingredients we need to provide and the method of making it are rice flour, grated coconut, brown sugar plus white sugar and then stir everything after that it is lumpy using hands to form an oval and then wrapped with Pandan leaves.
The final stage is steamed for 20 or 30 minutes, and it becomes cimp/gutel, good luck.
